Haircut. Seriously, Gus is a New Man!

Just a quick update on our weekend.  We had an amazing time at a two-year old birthday party with our good friends yesterday.  This picture of Augustus going down the slide with extra cool hair caused by static electricity was a big push for us to get his hair cut!!!

Today was an amazing weather day, and we enjoyed the morning with breakfast at Nonnie and Pickle's house with special guest, Uncle Jer Jer. Then it was a big walk to the park where the boys had so much fun running around the park. It is so great to do the park on Sunday mornings because no one else is ever there; I guess everyone else is at church! The boys took a nice nap and woke up in time for us to get haircuts. These were the first official haircuts outside of our house. Augustus' hair was just out of control!!! Not anymore. He is a real little boy now. Short and clipped properly. Raleigh is still rocking some major curls so we just took his up a little and thinned it out a little so it is not so heavy on his head this summer. Tonight we had a great dinner with family and friends. The boys were on their best behavior and had a good time with their little buddy. Now, on to watch the Oscars!

Here, Raleigh does his best "hmmmm" face, and yes, that is an awesomely-bad garden frog statue from my mom.  There are three frogs, one for each of the boys and one for their BFF Conner.

Hair Cuts, and This Time We're Serious. Oh, and GO PACK GO!!!!

Raleigh saying - WHAT??? You want to cut this???

Just a quick note to show you the boys real hair cuts. I mean REAL hair cuts. Of course I still did them myself. (S - I still want your sis to help shape these trees, but I could not take the stringy, hippy hair any longer).

Gus really needs some product in his hair at all times, but Rals is pretty much good-to-go with his hair now even in this god awful dry, no humidity weather. Enjoy.

BTW - don't worry too much, I am sure the hair will be back this summer. These kids have some bionic hair that grows faster then the weeds we call Florida grass. Here is a couple shots of them at just one year, and now they are only 21 months. Wow, I wish my hair grew that fast.

Holidays are Coming. Cookies - Check, Toys - Check, Wrapping - Not Yet

I cannot believe it will be Christmas Eve tomorrow. Where has another year gone? Last year at this time we were sipping champers in Australia with two little nine month olds. Looking back I can barely even recognize the chubby little men that made the trek across the world with us. What a great time. We sure will miss Nannie and Poppy and of course, Auntie Peta this year. Good thing we just saw them though. We have been laying low the past couple of days. Unfortunately, the boys got some runny noses going on. They may have caught something at the twin holiday party, we noticed a lot of snot, but it could also just be the colder weather. They are sleeping well, but are just full of snotties. Yuck! Of course, I should be wrapping their presents while they sleep, but alas, the blog was calling, oh, that and General Hospital;)

We had a play date at our house this week, and Augustus was displaying his usual selfish phase. He had it out again with his little friend "E" when she wouldn't give him the toy he wanted. Those two can go round and round, and it usually ends when Augustus is fully frustrated and attempts to bite her. Ugh. I am really hoping this phase passes quickly. I know it is just out of frustration, but it is frustrating to us as well.

Augustus, patiently putting on his sprinkles!
Rals, very determined with his decorations
Augustus, diving right into the cookies!

Today we spent the morning cooking cookies with Nonnie. I even got to take Augustus to Target by himself before we started; which he loved. They are so funny, when we drive by Target they point and want to go there. When I asked him if he wanted to go to Target he said "ya, ya" with such enthusiasm, so how could I resist. We got some last minute pressies and cookie cutters. Here are a few shots of the boys decorating one cookie on their own. Augustus ate his whole cookie, but did not do it until it was nice and decorated. Raleigh, he was more interested in the berries, trees and sprinkles to go on top of the cookie to eat it. He literally licked all the frosting off and picked up all the decorations and then left the cookie part whole. Thankfully, despite all the sugar, they fell asleep for naps early.

Gus points to his new hair cut.

Yup, that is right, Gus got his hair cut. For whatever reason, Gus' hair has been really dry, frizzy, and much lighter than Raleigh's hair has been. Thus, the impromptu chop this week. There is no way anyone could not tell these boys apart now! Although, Raleigh did get his bangs trimmed a bit.

Hair cut is just weird.

So, I chopped a bit of Gus' hair of the sides a couple of days ago. I was very impressed that daddy knew it immediately and asked if they got hair cuts despite being greeted by a house full of people when he got home from work. Kudos to daddy! It really looks weird though. He is still cute as a bug, but it does not look like Gus. :( He looks like a real little boy. Sniff, sniff. Here are a few picture, although it was right after swim lessons so his hair is wet, but you get my drift I am sure. Raleigh got his hair cut too, but his was not as long and wild on the sides, so just a bit of his bangs, and he looks about the same. Anyway, that is all I had to say today.
