Enjoying the Beautiful Weather

The boys have been very busy enjoying the great weather! This weekend will be extra busy as well, so we hope to have low humidity and sunshine all weekend. We go to a March of Dimes fundraiser event on Saturday afternoon & the boys first baseball game on Sunday with another family of twinkies (and a whole bunch of them from what I hear, but we only know one of the families going).
Yesterday the boys had their last Synergist shot of the season. Whew! It has gotten increasingly difficult for them & mommy!!!! They obviously associate the doctor's office with shots & pain. They did okay again until they got to the scale. Then it was tear drop city. Raleigh weighed in at 22.4 and Gus was back up to 23.6 lbs. Just a little over a pound difference now. Gus really lost weight with all his movement and Raleigh is just maintaining, but boy can that man eat. He really has had a large appetite these past few days, but he burns his calories as soon as he consumes them. They are still walking like drunken sailors, and are really only comfortable doing so in their playroom; although they both took some steps in our front & back yard recently and even on the bumpy rubber mulch at the playground. I think within two weeks they will be old pros. You can really see how much better they are getting at getting up from sitting on the floor & deciding where to go before they take off. We are seeing less & less stage diving into something soft or mommy/daddy so that is an improvement as well.

Here are a few shots of the past few, fun filled days!
Raleigh walking to get his shoe!
Raleigh at the very top of the playground with Nonnie (how cute are her shorts...and with all the weight she is loosing they'll be mine sooon...and then I will have to loose weight too!!!)

Boys climbing up the train playground set - they can literally climb every square inch of the playground now. We let them climb up the 10 foot tall set & everything, of course we were right behind them every inch of the way!!

Augustus looking through the train tunnel - their favorite!

Raleigh playing in our front yard, turning the wood chip into a cell phone - which is certainly better than trying to eat it!!!!

Raleigh took a stick and tried to make a necklace...he'll do anything for a laugh:)

Raleigh looking back to make sure I was watching him...so darn cute & happy he was going on his own!

The boys on their adventure to freedom outside!

Augustus, napping hard after all the fresh air!

The boys - what animated faces I tell ya!

Gus - the look tells me that he is about to eat the grass he is holding...

Gus - looking exactly like Matthew!

Raleigh Getting Better at Walking

First - Happy Birthday to Auntie Peta again from the boys!!!
Second, we miss Nonnie, but we hope you enjoy your last day of vacation with Alexander!

Here are a few videos of Raleigh walking a bit better.

Monday's attempt

Today's attempt

Augustus is trying too, but he just does not have the core strength yet. He leads too much with his Buddha, I mean belly! Augustus did make it up one step of the slide today & shimmied up enough to slide down head first! A first in our household...Augustus does not like something we presented him to eat. Grilled cheese of all things! He would chew it, spit it out, chew it again until the bread was fully soft & then he would eat it. I guess he did not like the two textures together!!!

Raleigh's newest trick is making kissy sounds (which he did today while talking to Auntie Peta) & using his hand to make a "come here" signal, which I call "gimmy gimmy" since he does it mostly when he eats!!!

They had their shots yesterday afternoon to help prevent the RSV. We only have one more set to go for this year...thankfully. They were crying when I pulled their stroller up to the scale at the doctor's office. They totally knew what was coming. Unfortunately, they have their one year check up coming soon too! Poor boys have bruises in both of their thighs since they are so big now they have to break the shot up into two separate shots. Augustus weighed in at an even 24 pounds, OMG! Raleigh is still svelte at 21.8. Both boys slept really well after getting shots & having a play date earlier in the day yesterday. Hoping they sleep as well tonight. On that note, this mommy is heading for bed!

9 Month Checkup Today

Christmas at Nonnie & Pickles
On our newest toy

Gus' favorite new sport, crawling over Raleigh

The boys had their 9 month checkup today. Only shot was their Synergis - and boy do they hate it!!! The boys are doing awesome of course. The doctor heard a slight murmur on Raleigh's heart, but she was not concerned. Augustus' iron level was a bit low, so they are going to recheck it next month when they go back for another Synergis shot. Otherwise, we could have added half whole milk to his formula. Raleigh's level was fine. They have also graduated to their next car seat, so daddy will be busy installing them this weekend:) Raleigh weighed in at a whopping 20lb 4oz, and was 29 1/2 inches long. Augustus is two pounds heavier exactly, and a half inch longer.

The best news is that they have settled into a better night routine since we returned from Oz. They are getting to bed around 8pm and sleeping usually until at least 6am straight, although Raleigh still has some weird wake-ups from time to time. Gus even made it 12 solid hours one night this week...one can only hope this will be a trend sooner than later. Of course our pediatrician rained on our parade and said pretty soon their molars will come in and their sleep schedule will be all off again soon:) Yeah! Cannot wait...
This week has been a new adventure for us with both boys pulling themselves up to stand and standing on their own. This means tumbles & watching them to make sure they are not pulling each other down while trying to pull themselves using their brother. Raleigh has even tried cruising between his kitchen toy and the chair in our play room. Look out, they will be walking soon!! Unbelievable=)
